Inver, Barnatra, Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
|
This website has been prepared by the children and teachers in Inver N.S., Co. Mayo, Ireland. Inver is situated in the north west of Ireland on the Atlantic coast. Our nearest town is Belmullet. Our school has five wonderful teachers. Take a look at our Céide Fields page for accounts of our visit this 5000 year old site. These are the remains of a Stone Age landscape of stone walled fields and houses preserved underneath the growing blanket bog. Read Amanda's account
of where she lives. Click here
to see her beautiful photograph.
Help us figure out who our mystery partners are in our
Global Clues project. We are exchanging local artefacts with a school
in another country. Help guess the origin of our clues, so as to find
our new friends. See our Global Clues Page.
Come and see our exciting online adventure called "Online
Expeditions" in conjunction with Lightspan.com. A Hawaiian called Mick
Bird is rowing (yes rowing!!) single-handedly around the world, and
he keeps us all updated about his adventures at his website at www.naau.com
and by sending us e-mail also. The children in Fifth and Sixth Classes
decided to write their own versions of "The Voyage" and to create graphics
around Mick's sighting of a sea turtle. We were delighted to receive
a satellite phone-call from the Timor Sea from Mick. See all our fun
by clicking here. Our pupils spread their enthusiasm for IT to their parents, and now they too are becoming involved in our C.E.L.T. programme (Community being Empowered and Learning Through Technology)! Take a peek at the newly launched C.E.L.T. web site at www.inver.org. See our Before and After page which shows how our old disused building was magically changed into our wonderful new IT room! We also have some wonderful members of our community who have given of their free time and skills to convert a disused building into a computer lab. Click here to see a slide show of their fantastic work. We enjoy looking for information, sending e-mail, and looking at other web sites using our school's computers. We hope you enjoy our web page. Please call back again as we update constantly! Please click on the link of your choice to get more information. Please let us know if you enjoyed your visit to our web page.
