About INYBCO
Key Issues

To create a semi-professional Youth Ballet Company in Ireland.

To enable talented young Irish dancers to stay at home and receive world-class training rather than to have to leave the country. Many dancers who have trained abroad do not return and are never seen on Irish stages.

To develop and maintain the highest artistic standards for the Ballet dancers.

To reach as many young Ballet dancers as possible in Ireland. In Dublin, by continuous promotion of the Company through dance schools, dance colleges and any dance resource materials. Throughout the rest of Ireland, by establishing, where possible, Irish Junior Ballet Company Centres in the regions. A centre in Limerick has already been established.

Irish Junior Ballet Company works in conjunction with the private dance teacher and is an advanced supplement to this private training. Irish Junior Ballet Company makes all of its literature available to private Ballet teachers in Ireland and encourages them to send pupils for auditions.

Irish Junior Ballet Company also aims to showcase the talents of Irish dancers who have been successful abroad. Successfui Irish dancers appear as guest stars in Irish Junior Ballet performances.

Master classes with international teachers and visiting choreographers take place at the weekend and pupils take lessons in the European style and develop a cohesive style for performance.

Insure the continued growth and viability of the company through responsible administration and fiscal management.

Irish Junior Ballet Company offers year-round School Educational Performances titled "What is this thing called Ballet?" These lecture/demonstrations increase dance awareness and cultivate an audience for dance/ballet theatre.

The Company is offering its first Summer School in July 1999 which will hopefully be an annual event.
