Rules
- The Irish Open is a National Competition between the Regions. The results of the Irish
Open are processed by adding the highest four floor routine scores from different
categories (level 1 - international 1 ) with the highest combined tumbling score from
level 1 or level 2 and the combined score from level 2b or greater. Medals will also be
presented to 1, 2, and 3rd places for each level.
- The entry fee to this competition is £3 per gymnast. If a gymnast is competing in both
Acrobatics and Tumbling, the entry fee is £5.
- All regions must send 2 qualified judges to judge at the Irish Open. These names should
be sent along with the entries. Regions sending a full compliment are asked to send a
third judge.
- All competitors must be 8 years of age in the year of competition. This means that they
must reach their 8th birthday within 2000.
- All competitors must hold a current competition licence. This must be obtained from the
Office before competing at the regional competition. The licence is £4 and entitles the
gymnast to enter all eight sections of Irish Gymnastics
- Only 2 Pairs/Groups may enter for each level from each region. There is no restriction
on the number at International Levels but 2 names must be specified to go forward as part
of the regional team.
- Trophies received last year must be brought back on the day of the competition.
All entries, tariff sheets and moneys must be in to the competition secretary Clare
Sheehan, 28 Rosewood Est., Ballincollig ,Co Cork on or before Wednesday 26th
January. Entries will be received until Friday 28th, but they will incur a £50
fine. Entries after that date will not be accepted.
