Mercury and Venus in the dawn Oct. 2001

Taken by John O'Neill on the morning of 2001 Oct 31 with a 50mm camera lens camera (detail). The two planets were then only a little over a half a degree apart. Mercury is to the upper left of the brighter planet.


Canadian Halo

The 22° radius Halo with Sun Dog shot in the Canadian Rockies, Alberta. There was also a Sun Dog on the east side of the halo. A telescope blocks the sun. Digital Camcorder still, 30th April 2003. Taken by John O'Neill.
