Striking Sunspot 16th August 2002

Taken by John O'Neill through a 70mm refractor working at a focal length of 520mm. 1/1000 second with a Solar Filter. It was a prominent spot to the protected naked eye.



Large sunspot groups February 2000

Taken by John McConnell on February 28th 2000 at Prime Focus of an ETX90mm. 1/60 second on E100S slide film,and a full aperture Thousand Oaks Solar Filter. The slide was scanned and the colour adjusted to near normal.The two large groups were visible to the protected naked eye.
