McHeff was formed 15 years ago in Richie’s kitchen and have been playing together ever since. The band is made up of three members: Richie Heffernan, Michael McStay and Gerard McStay all from Ballyfermot (hence the name McHeff! The band’s wide range of instruments include Uilleann pipes, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle and bodhrán. They play a wide range of traditional Irish music and Ballads. They have played gigs all over Ireland and as far afield as the south of France and Portugal. The highlight of their Irish gigs was when they played for Dublin’s Lord Mayor in the Mansion House.
