Farranree Club gets New Instructors
October 2001

The long established "Farranree Karate Club" in Cork City has just got two new instructors. They are Sensei David McIntyre and Sensei Lynda Kelly who take over the reins from long time instructor Sensei Danny Cullinane.

Sensei Cullinane who opened the club over 20 years ago is well known throughout Ireland,  for his teaching ability and as a formidable opponent in the competition arena for the last 25 years. He has decided that the time was right to move on, and concentrate on his own training and the task achieving his next grade.

Sensei McIntyre has, over the last number of years, turned out many champions from his already well established "Glaseen Karate Club" and has himself competed successfully both nationally and internationally and is still doing so. Sensei Kelly, also an accomplished instructor, is proving to be very popular with their new club. She is also a karateka who has enjoyed the success of gold in the arena and is now in training for the forth coming 2002 championships in the spring. The members of the club have all responded very well to the changeover and are also enjoying all the benefits of becoming the latest members of  the "Irish Shotokan Karate Union". ©
