'Painting with palette knives'

Hello and welcome to my website. Here you will find twenty-seven of my paintings for your perusal. Some of the paintings shown here are for sale, some have already been sold, some were commissioned pieces, others are for exhibit, and there's probably a couple I just haven't been able to part with.

Although some years ago I studied in the 'National Collage of Art and Design', I consider myself to be generally
self-taught.

When first introduced to the palette-knives I recognize them to be an excellent tool, allowing great freedom and dexterity to the artist in applying paint to the canvas.
This is due to the fact that when using the knife, pure undiluted paint can be used directly from the tube.
The paint can also be applied in layers, wet on wet, which allows for greater creative input to a painting from the artist. In order to achieve the same effect with brushes, for example, the artist would have to paint a section and allow it to dry before applying the next layer.

Over the past years I have developed the skill of working with palette-knives, and I feel that my work now reflects a real feel of three-dimensional realism.
I always start with the objective of capturing the mood of the subject and later pay attention to fine detail.

I have given lectures and demonstrated the art of working with palette-knives and my work is on display in many galleries around the world.
