Thoughts of a Teacher
I have been a teacher in Scoil Nano Nagle for over 20 years. I have seen a lot of changes of those years, not least of which has been past pupils of mine now bringing their own children to the school.
I find my work both satisfying and fulfilling. There is no greater thrill than being a small part of children learning and growing. It's good to feel you make a difference.
As a place of work the emphasis is on team work. The school has a happy and friendly environment. Everyone helps everyone else. If someone has an idea or a resource which might be useful to others, they share it. There is also great emphasis on professional development. Teachers are encouraged to renew and enhance their teaching skill by attending courses and by discussing and evaluating work together.
There is always something new to learn which keeps me fresh and stimulated and helps me to give the best service I can to the children in my care.
