Stephen McArdle

SJ McArdle began his musical life at the age of 15, flitting in and out of punk and rock bands.  In 1994, he first became obsessed with songwriting - falling in love with the songs of Tom Waits, Richard Thompson, David Byrne, Warren Zevon and Steve Earle.  Accordingly, he had a go at songwriting himself.  It was shortly afterwards that he began working solo with guitar and voice, and has since played regularly in venues in and around Drogheda. This eventually led to an interest in folk music and in other instruments, and to ongoing side-work with the Drogheda-based folk band, Reynardine, with whom he plays mandolin and tenor banjo.
