Alistair McCann’s DeLorean

 

I realised my life long dream one year ago in 2004 when I got the chance to be able to say that "I own a Delorean"!!!

 

The car itself had been lying in a shed near my home in Northern Ireland for about 15 years and the owner had grown tired of the car taking up space, so me being the generous type I decided to give him a large amount of cash for it.

 

It was when I got the car home and found the tax book that I started to find out the amazing story behind my car..........

 

My car "PILOT 25" had been one of the first pre-production prototype cars that was used for motoring magazines and newspaper journalists.  It was also the last car to be sold at auction in Ireland and is the oldest driving Delorean in the world.

 

I found many pictures of the car in books and magazines and I now know that this car is special and will stay in Ireland to be a testiment to the workers in the Dunmurry plant.
