Below is a summary of the steps required to write and display a web-page on your own computer.

1. Open Notepad on your computer.
2. Type in the Structure of a web-page. This will be the same for all our web-pages.
3. Type in the Content of the web-page i.e. what you want to appear on your website.
4. Save your file i.e. your web-page. Choose a name for the file and put   .html onto the end of your file name.
5. On the top right of your page are three buttons. Click the first one called the minimise button. It looks like a minus sign. This hides or takes your web-page off the screen for the time being.
6. Find and open your file i.e. your web-page using Internet Explorer working off-line. Your web-page will appear as if on the internet.
7.Adding more content or Changing the content of your web-page :Open i.e. bring back up on the screen the web-page you created using Notepad, make the changes and save your file again. Repeat Step 6 to look at your updated file. If the changes do not appear click the Refresh Button in Internet Explorer.
8.To finish up, before turning off your computer, close all files.
