Here is my third painting, which was painted the day after the first two, on the 8th August 2005. It is a small rose bush that was dropping its petals on the patio of my garden.
As I explained in painting number 1, this was the third and last painting that I had to rescue from being stuck on the laminate flooring. Here is the laminate flooring after peeling the paintings off. You can see the outline of the painting where I painted over the edge of the paper.
It is also the third and last painting with a funeral connection. In February, I had taken some pink Camellia petals that had fallen on our patio to England, to put on the coffin of my Aunt Beryl. These rose petals, falling almost exactly half a year later in August, were a similar colour and reminded me of the Camellia petals I had taken to England.
I must admit that while I enjoyed painting the petals, the repetitive nature of painting the leaves seemed a bit of a chore.
For once, the camera flash has not given any glare, so you have a clear view of the painting in this photograph.
