These are some of the wheat fields that you can see from the main road between Bunclody and Eniscorthy in Co Wexford. The road follows the river Slaney, although you can only see occasional glimpses of the river from the road. All along the flat ground by the river are wheat fields.
This was my first 'big' painting. Well, it was bigger than the others ! It is the size that I naturally felt I wanted. I suppose I was thinking about something that would fit nicely over the fireplace.
After I painted this, I wondered just how much subconscious influence Van Gogh had on me.
