Curves   24" x 18"

Curves in Cut Wheat, Near the river Slaney, Co Wexford by John Penfold Ballyine Borris Ireland The harvester usually leaves straight stripes across the field. This curved pattern was left in an awkward corner, which must have been irritating for the farmer, but was a blessing to me.

The ground this near to the river is very flat, where the river has flooded many times over the millennia. You would realise that you were near the river by that, if you know the area.

It was now Friday 30th September, the last day of my exhibition at Graigenamanagh. The ladies at the library had recommended me to Castlecomer Library. And the timing was perfect, the exhibition at Castlecomer started the next day. Last thing on Friday, I took down the pictures and brought them home. This gave me a chance to show them to some neighbors. First thing on Saturday, I put them up at Castlecomer. When we got there, we met Mary, the energetic lady in charge. She re-arranged the schedule to give us four weeks instead of two, which was a nice vote of confidence.
