This coin is a Irish Free State halfcrown struck in the Royal Mint in 1937.

This coin is in GEF (Good Extremely Fine) condition. It has light wear on the higher surfaces and some slight loss of very fine detail such as around the horses mouth. The coin also has a few small nicks and scratches which were either caused in the minting and bagging process or in the brief period of circulation that it saw.

The 1937 halfcrown is the scarcest of the Free State halfcrowns and is an extremely difficult coin to find in Uncirculated (UNC) condition. Circulated examples in the lower grades are generally available, while examples better than Good Very Fine (GVF) and with no problems are less common, examples approaching Uncirculated like this one are quite scarce.
