U-9s Go Down at Last Hurdle in Autoglass Shield Final
Castleknock Celtic 1 (Conor Clarke) Dunboyne 3
This was indeed a great effort on the part of the whole team. They came within a whisker of pulling off a remarkable achievement.
Celtic took an early lead with a super goal from Conor Clarke, see across, who was unfortunate not to bag a second when he headed just wide minutes later.
Dunboyne equalised and the teams remained level at the end of normal time despite some great chances at both ends
Celtic gave it everything during the first period of extra time but were unfortunate to concede a goal. They threw caution to the wind for the remaining minutes pushing everybody forward and had a few good chances. They were punished for their efforts in the last seconds of the game when Dunboyne bagged a third goal.
Celtic have nothing to be ashamed of after a great performance and a very entertaining game.
Team below, action in Dunboyne goalmouth, and Brian O'Shea receives his medal.
