Diamond Performance from U-15 Major side - Tues. 27th Aug 02

Castleknock Celtic  5  Rivervalley Rangers  0

Unfortunately Rivervalley's home pitch was vandalised and they had to reverse the fixture to Castleknock's home ground in Porterstown.  Having missed chances in the first half, Celtic went in 0-0 at half time.  But the interval pep-talk did the trick.  A succession of attacks by the home side ended with strikes on target by Ian Denham, Pat Rohan, Colin Reilly, and a brace from Conor Hayes.  This was the perfect tonic after their lack lustre 0-1 home defeat last Sunday against Dundrum Athletic.  They did indeed bounce back with a vengeance.

The parents made a generous presentation to manager Seamus McDermott after the game in appreciation of his commitment to the team over the years.  Club Secretary Tony Jordan was also there to express the club executive's appreciation.  He also paid tribute to the team's progress and their fine performance in tonight's match.  Playing now in the Major League, they will need to maintain a high level of performance.
