Narrow win for U-14s

Castleknock Celtic 2  Ratoath Harps 1

This was a very closely fought game.  Harps had been hoping to repeat the fortunes of their U-10A team, which came to Porterstown the day before and went home with a rare scalp having beaten Celtic's U-10A high-flyers 3-2.  U-10 Garret Deasy told this reporter that they were very unlucky, with a couple of vital decisions not going their way.  His brother, Conor, who is very influential on this U-14s team, had to leave the field early today through injury.  But his colleagues worked all the harder and were good value for their 2-1 victory.  On the mark for Celtic were Des Mulloy and Lee Hargadon (sorry for earlier mistaking him for Ian his older brother!).  Harps wondered why they had not been awarded three penalties!
