Draw a Fair Result in U-11A Brenfer League Game

It was a beautiful morning in Porterstown at the end of this Indian Summer.  Though it ended with honours even, this was far from a dull game.  It was a titanic struggle between two top class sides, both hoping to challenge for honours this season.  It was extremely competitive from the start.  Celtic looked the more likely in the first half, and both John McGarrity and Stephen Smartt went close.

But Belgrove got stronger as the match progressed.  And they looked like they would nudge in front when their left-full, Sam Gallagher, delivered a beautiful precision cross to the head of Stephen Traynor, whose header was well stopped by the ever-reliable Celtic keeper, Michael O'Keeffe.  Man-of-the-match for this reporter was Michael Gateley who marshalled the home defence throughout.
