Castleknock Celtic 5  Raheny Utd  1

6/10/02    Brenfer U-12D

Convincing win for the home side in Porterstown.  Sporting their Motorvalue - sponsored gear, they were always on top in this mid-autumn game.

Castleknock got off to a flying start with a goal in the opening minute from Neal Maycock who bravely slid in to finish a fine move down the right.  This early break settled the home side who totally dominated the game and played some beautiful flowing football in the process.  Solid defence, a strong battling midfield and clinical finishing brought to score to 5-0 at half-time, with a quick-fire hat-trick from man-of-the-match Ricky Flanagan, and a sweetly struck 25-yarder from Christopher Hoey.

With the game in the bag, the same spark wasn't there in the second half and the visitors from Dublin 5 finally got the consolation goal their efforts deserved about 10 minutes from the end.
