This was a great cup tie, end to end stuff, with the result in real doubt throughout.  Adam O'Callaghan put the home side 1-0, but Mullingar fought back to level, and the visitors went 2-1 ahead in the second half.  It was at the death that Kevin Moriarty, Celtic's stalwart defender, went forward in a last ditch salvage exercise.  He shot home to level matters and take the fixture into extra time.  Celtic's superior fitness told, and Damien Whitaker in the first period let fly from 30 metres with a real screamer.  Adam O'Callaghan got a second late on to make it 4-2 and send Celtic through to the next round of the Cup.

Worth noting that Adam O'Callaghan's twin brother, Steve took off a number of excellent saves at vital times and kept Celtic in with a shout.
