Celtic Edge Out Malahide in Brenfer 15A League

The first half was a fairly even affair, and it was not surprising that it was 0-0 at half-time.

But five minutes into the second half, Danny OMahony was on hand to head home from a free kick.

After twelve minutes of the half, Ciaran Finn was taken down in the box.  No option for the ref, penalty kick.  Up stepped Danny O'Mahony again, and this time he rifled home into the bottom left hand corner.  Lee Hargadon, who had worked his socks off, was replaced by Jonny Quinn, who was equally as industrious.

After 22 minutes, a Malahide free kick was not collected by defenders or keeper, and it was 2-1.  Despite the efforts of Celtic, including Stephen Simpson, who was just wide with a long range effort, the game ended with the home side with their noses just in front.

Jimmy Cummiskey and Peter Finn were fullsome in their praise of the lads, who had kept to their task, despite some scares in the last ten minutes.
