Full points for Celtic in U-11C division

Castleknock Celtic  5  Dunshaughlin  1

U-11C North Dublin League

6 October 2003

On a cold October morning, things soon warmed up as the U-11s set about their task of winning another three points in the C-division.

With 5 minutes gone, Castleknock got a corner. It was swung in by Eoin Norton but was knocked out by Dunshaughin.  It fell however to Ryan Hickey on the edge of the box, who drove home to make it 1-0 to the home side.

Ten mins later Dunshaughin drew level after a poor kick out and bad defending that gave a simple chance which the visitors exploited to level it at 1-1.

After that set back, it was all one way with Paul Conway, Sean Hanlon and Paul McGrath taking paintwork off the post.  25 mins gone and Castleknock broke again through Paul Conway, only to be brought down in the box.  The penalty was given.  After a long delay, Sean Hanlon stepped up and slotted it in the bottom right hand conner to make it 2-1.

The second half saw changes, as Conor Mooney, Daragh McGowan, David Cummins and Conor O'Riordan taking command.  With Conor Mooney running things on the left of midfield, it was only time before an opening would happen.  It came from a long throw from David Barnes, which Sean Hanlon latched ontoj, passed two defenders, and a right foot shot past the keeper to make it 3-1.

3 mins after the re-start Castleknock were back in again. This time David Cummins was in on goals to drive home after some hard work to make it 4.  With time ticking away, Castleknock won a free kick on the edge of the box, which Eion Norton took.  He put free high into the Dunshaughin net to finish off a great win, which was due to a great all round effort on the part of all the team, from goal to those up-front.
