Match of the Day : Celtic's
16Major DDSL share
points with local rivals Verona in 2-2 draw in Porterstown. click
11As have easy passage into 3rd round of Tom Coughlan Cup away to Marino. 12Ds went away to Swords Rovers and they continued their unbeaten run as they notched up their fifth win in league/league cup matches this season. Man of the Match Graham Walsh got Celtic on their way with a bullet header from a corner giving the Rovers' keeper no chance. Craig McGivern, not noted for his goal scoring, popped up to score number 2. Cormac Digney completed the scoring to give Celtic a 3-1 away win. 12Fs were desperately unlucky not to get full points at home in Porterstown against Ratoath Harps. Having gone into a 1-0 lead after a couple of minutes with Sassan's goal, they looked comfortable. But alas, at the death, Ratoath sneaked in to grab a late late equaliser. It proves the point, never try to rely on a one goal lead! |
12Es
had a convincing 6-3 win over Malahide Utd in Porterstown. Sean
Rafter put them 1-0 up. Ciaran Crilly made it 2-0. But
Malahide showed their mettle and brought themselves onto level terms. But
Craig Dunne got his first to make it 3-2, and was followed by Tom Lenihan,
who gave Celtic what looked like a comfortable margin. But Malahide
bounced back to reduce deficit to 4-3. It was fast and furious, and
Celtic's Hugh Kelly hit a rocket which hit a post. But Tom Lenihan stepped
up and gave the home side a 5-3 lead. And to finish off, Craig Dunne
hit his second. Fine win for Castleknock Celtic 6-3 in a very entertaining
game. U-15Ds are denied the points in this league match as yet another very dubious home-town referee's decision gave the home side, Dunboyne, a penalty at the death. Celtic looked good value for the full 3 points after a superlative hat-trick by the prolific Ciaran Egan, who just scores for fun. 17As DDSL knock in seven against hapless newcomers, Woods Utd. Simon Fleming helped himself to a hat-trick, but even that was excelled by Adam O'Callaghan who got four. Result 7-0. |
16Bs win away to Malahide in League Cup. Mark McLoughlin gave them a 1-0 lead. Stephen Kiernan scored the second, and Mark O'Toole was on the scoresheet for the second consecutive week, to see Celtic comfortable 3-1 away winners. The back-4 were very solid, with stand-in keeper Colin Hayden doing very well. Man of the match was Emmet McDonald. 1/11/ 03: AUL Div2A just can't stop winning. They have surged up to the top spot in the league. Their latest victims were Phoenix Rovers, who agreed to reverse the fixture as their pitch was unplayable. Stef Hennessy was the hat-trick hero, while Martin Fleming and Deco Cunningham from a penalty, made it 5-0. Remarkable about this result was that all the team came through our schoolboys. It was 0-0 at half time. Darragh Wylie was yet again on top of his game, earning him the man of the match title. AUL Div2 after a succession of unlucky results, shared the points against Sandyhill in the league, thanks to goals from Kevin Brady and Darragh O'Connor. Result 2-2. |
