LFA Youths Cup

Sun.November 14, 2004

A feature of this DDSL 17Major Castleknock Celtic side is their durability.  Last week they came strong in the second half to overcome Dundalk in the FAI Cup.  This week, again it was the second half that their stamina showed through.  The intensive training regime of new manager Vernon McAllorum is paying dividends.

It was 3 minutes into the second half when Celtic first breached the local Celbridge side's defences.  Ronan McGivern was the provider when he lobbed the ball over the defence for Lorcan McCarthy to shoot home.  1-0

After 8 minutes, Gary Deveney sent his corner straight to the Ballyoulster net.  2-0

On 20 minutes, full back Peter Troy fed Lorcan McCarthy, whose pass was poked home by Deveney for his second.

The final goal was a gem.  McCarthy's free kick was volleyed home beautifully by Ciaran O'Donoghue.

Well done to Celtic whose performances are special these days.

4-goal blitz from Hoey sends local neighbours packing

U-14 SFAI Goodson Cup

Sun.November 14, 2004

Peter Hoey and Jim Ennis were pleased with their side's application.

Christopher Hoey got the man of the match award for his stunning 4-goal salvo.  Ricky Flanagan had opened the scoring for the hoops.  Alan Kearns and John Rogers got one each.  David Lawlor got his first of the season, but alas it was for Mochtas.  But his team mates forgave him, as he otherwise put in a fine performance.
