Having overcome Malahide the previous week, Willie O'Gorman and Eamonn O'Connor went into this game with renewed confidence, and it spilled over into the minds of the players, who played with much conviction. It was a team effort from back to the forwards. But it was a strike each from Robert McEvoy and Adam Murnane, who were the difference eventually. Willie and Eamonn were very generous in their well-earned praise of their twin goalies, Sam Sherwood and Niall Browne, who share the duties each week. Eoin O'Heir was a stalwart at the back and made many vital interventions to prevent goals.
