Castleknock Celtic   2   St Kevins Boys   1

Donal Hanlon was not very pleased with the conditions that the boys had to start in, as it was very frosty.  It is probably one of the most unwelcome weather conditions for any groundsman, as we so often see the pitch getting very cut up, as happened this morning.

But Celtic adapted well, and were good value for their 2-1 win, thanks to 2 strikes from Dan Mangan (any relation to Jack of Galway GAA fame?).  To tell the truth (what else would a reporter do?), Celtic missed many opportunities, and we can only put it down to the bad state of the pitch.

Where's it going. Yes you've guessed it. Just by the post, with the keeper and defence beaten yet again.

John Richard O'Donovan watches on as another shot on goal misses the net.

Celtic's nifty winger, Carl O'Mahony, is ready to skin the St Kevin's full back yet again.

St Kevins Boys led a very charmed life, with wave after wave of Celtic attacks failed to increase the home side's advantage. The scene below of 8 defenders holding out Celtic's attack was typical of the second half of this game on a very crisp sunny morning in Porterstown.
