NDSL Under-10  Michael Woods Cup

Castleknock Celtic  2    Clontarf FC  1

Having accounted for two teams in higher divisions in earlier rounds of the Michael Woods Cup, Celtic were again pitted against so-called superior opposition from a higher division.  This match was for a right to play in the semi-final, and it was Clontarf that stood in the way.

We started well and were 1 up after 5 mins.  Eve Farrelly hit a sweet ball from defence to Eoin Newman in midfield, who laid it on to Keith Farrell to bury the ball past the 'keeper. 1-0.

Clontarf nicked one back on the rebound but Celtic kept their heads up and fought back well.  Their persistance paid off in the second half when Eve Farrelly  fed Ronan McCabe who passed to Keith Farrell.  He capitalised on the opportunity and secured our place in the semi-finals.  It was a solid team performance witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd.

Some of them stayed on to see John Hayes' team(10C) demolish St Mochta's 5 - 1in the cup.
