16/12/01 :  Celtic's U-12A's 7-0 Win Over Baldoyle Utd

In their last competitive match of 2001, Manager, Eamonn O'Connor, and Coach Shane McCreevy, expressed satisfaction with the efficiency with which their 12A side defeated Baldoyle to take their place in the last 8 of the Kevin Moran Cup.  They have also qualified for the last-32 of the SFAI All-Ireland Cup with a tie against representatives from Cork.

Goalscorers today included man of the match, James Ring, who got a hat-trick, while Odran Fanning, David Hunt, Michael Daly, and two from Barry Sheridan completed the rout.

Shane McCreevy is heading across the Atlantic in the New Year where he will coach in New Jersey, USA.  We wish him the very best.  We hope to see him back later in 2002 to give us the benefit of his experience.  Shane has served our club as player and coach for the past ten years or so.  He has been a great servant, and we will all miss his enthusiasm for the game and his know-how .  He played at the highest schoolboy level in the DDSL Premiership until injury brought a premature end to his playing career, but the coaching fraternity have benefited as a result.  Bon voyage, Shane, and keep in touch through the e-mail and watching the regular updates on our teams on this website.
