Former F1 world
champion Jacques Villeneuve has stated he will
see out his contract with British American
Racing. The
French-Canadian has told Autosport magazine that
he intends to remain until the end of 2000 - even
if friend and manager Craig Pollock resigns as
team chairman.
'I
have said before that if Craig goes, I go,
because then the team wouldn't mean much,' said
Villeneuve.
'It
would be another political business. It wouldn't
be a team. It wouldn't be what I signed my years
into. So it wouldnt be a happy situation.
'I
would go to the end of my term, though.'
Villeneuve
has been linked with a possible return to the
Williams team next season.
But
he insisted: 'I have another year's contract
here.'
