CYBERSISTERS episode, in series Grey Voyagers, shown on RTE 1 and SBS AUSTRALIA and made by December Films, Melbourn, Australia tells the story of my odyssey by Amtrak rail in October 1999 from New York to chat101, the first Cybersister, in Rochester Upper NY State who brought me to neighbouring Niagara Falls, wonderful .

Then Amtrak from Rochester via Chicago to Spencer,Wisconsin to visit shawnee2, my second Cybersister and oldest chatfriend.Wisconson and its multicoloured fiery autumnal countryside in the state famous for its cheese and America's famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright and Orson Welles amongst the many.

From Spencer to overnight in Chicago and on to Denver, a mile over sea level, and froggie, the third Cybersister, who showed me the magic of The Rockies and flirted with the film director Declan and our gorgeous sound engineer Aussie Chris

And then what a finale: Denver to San Francisco for 36 Hours where we travelled parallel with The Colorado River for 200 miles and passed through Aspen Colorado, Salt Lake City, Reno, Winnemucca (read about and seen in Armistead Maupin's Tales of A City novels and TV Series)

This was followed by another odyssey around California, Nevada and Arizona with sons Jack, Richard and Finbarr

Straight off for a weekend with Jack's biker pals @ Bike Races in Thunderhill, Willow, Ca where Jack's team Irish Leprechauns raced in the relay event.
Then on to Yosemite National Park and its El Capitan whose climbers were invisible to the naked eye , Death Valley and Furnace Creek for a magical 3 days where we saw Jack's beloved haunts - he had once seen in the New Year there happily alone on a freezing mountaintop. Then it was Las Vegas and Treasure Island Hotel and a slackjawed visit to The Golden Mile with The Bellagio's fountains dancing Hey Big Spender! and dinnner at midnight in an outdoor/indoor restaurant in Caesar's Palace.
Next day it was The Hoover Dam where we did the hardhat tour of the inside of the dam. In my book Niagara is an awe-inspiring natural phenomenon and The Hoover Dam is an awe-inspiring manmade phenomenon
Next LA where we stayed on Sunset Boulevard, visited Universal City Studios and drove back to Cupertino on Highway1 through Santa Barbara visiting Madonna House and St Luis Obisco; beautiful Morro Bay with its fabulous sunset where I slept as my sons partied and were almost fired out of hotel for serenading each other from balconies...O Solo Mio!!!
Overnight then in Monterey where morningafter sons, soreheads and all, visited whales at sea and Jack and I visited Salinas and John Steinbeck's Museum
Home to Cupertino through Highway9 and the glorious redwoods; quench thirst in Murfs in Cupertino and dined and partied again with bikers in Palo Alto...
