This is the story of how we met...

Initially, Emma and Ken were "just friends". Emma was never impressed by Ken's love of bikes and as for the goatee, well best not to say anymore!!

The first sign of any romance was on New Year's Eve '94. While the couple were with friends in Keelings Pub of Donabate, Ken first caught Emma's eye. So with a glint in her eye and a pint in her hand she made her way over. Ken obviously had noticed Emma... They both agree it was a good night and the start of romance.

However, Emma found she had a challenge on her hands with Ken. Seemingly, Ken's mother Claire, had once told him "Variety is the spice of life" and he took it quite seriously. Poor Emma thought Ken would never stay still for five minutes. She wasn't the only one who thought Ken had ants in his pants.

Undeterred Emma pursued her man and before too long (5 yrs) Ken finally popped the question on Emma's 25th birthday. The crucial question took place in the lovely setting of the bathroom???? Well you never know what some people are into!! Emma was gobsmacked and had to ask Ken to clarify the situation. The occasion was celebrated with a number of friends and family members in Silk's Restaurant, Malahide, where the champagne was flowing. Pity it was at another table though!!

In April '98, the couple moved into their first home together. And in August 2000, Emma and Ken became the proud parents of their first child - Sam Barlow.

Finally, last August, the first plans were made for the forthcoming marriage of Emma and Ken. With only weeks to go nerves are frazzled, and tempers have flared, but both Emma and Ken assure me they are more in love now than ever before and can hardly wait for the Special Day.
