There are two outstanding 18 hole golf courses in the locality:

  • Kenmare Golf Club which was founded in 1903, and was extended to 18 holes in 1993 is located just a two minute walk from the town centre.Whilst the course can be very exacting for a good player, it is never unfair to the weak. The early holes stretch along the picturesque Roughty river estuary, while the remaining holes provide panoramic views of Kenmare Bay and the Roughty Valley.

  • Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club is located in the village of Templenoe, 4 miles west of the town of Kenmare. This course sits majestically overlooking the spectacular Kenmare Bay. This 18 hole, par-72 golf course nestles between the towering majesty of the MacGillycuddy Reeks and the Caha mountains and enjoys an unspoilt view of one of the most panoramic scenes to be found on any golf course in Ireland. It is sufficiently flexible to challenge competent and experienced players from the back teeing areas, yet be capable of being played and enjoyed by the average handicap player from middle and forward teeing areas.
