Tuosist is situated on the southern shore of Kenmare bay, along which it stretches for 23 miles.
It forms part of the Beara Peninsula, down the centre of which runs a backbone of mountains, the Caha and Slieve Miskish ranges.

Since the warm gulf stream wash Kerry shores, the climate is exceptionally mild, permitting a sub-tropical flora, including fuchsia, rhododendron and arbutus to flourish in the open air. |
