EXT: SHANGORT MAIN STREET -- LATER ON
Micko is sitting at the kerb, totally alone, trying to hit an empty
can with some pebbles.
An ancient filthy Land Rover pulls up alongside him and crushes the
can. Micko jumps up.
Packy climbs out and comes around the side of the car.
Packy looks all around, as if scared that someone might hear.
It's Packy, Packy.
Oh, right, sorry. You put 'Patrick' on the letter.
Packy goes straight for Micko's bag and picks it up.
Well, it's Packy. You've put on weight since I saw you.
I was fourteen.
Stone?
Years of age.
Right, right…
It's quiet, isn’t it?
Bloody rush hour this.
Micko looks around - there is not a soul to be seen.
Bloody tourists everywhere.
He grins.
INT: THE LAND ROVER -- DAY
The Land Rover is tearing down a miniscule country lane. Micko,
in the passenger seat, is terrified.
What'll we do if we meet someone?
We'll wave.
He takes a wild bend carelessly while glancing over at Micko.
Micko weakly signals his agreement. Suddenly a sheep appears out
of the back and nuzzles Micko's neck. Micko jumps high in the air
and screams.
Get back sheep.
Scared the shite out of me.
He's fearsome all right.
Why do you have a sheep in the back?
No room in the front, with your bag and all. She's an auld pet, loves
the car. Isn't that right sheep?
Sheep's POV, looking from Micko to Packy and back again.
Micko, bewildered, tries to strike up a sane conversation.
So… how've you been?
Since when?
