A blind man wakes from a stupor to found he has been bound securely to a chair in his living room. A menacing voice tells him that he is about to have his throat slit from ear to ear.
The man pleads and offers money but to no avail. The assailant, and his accomplice, have only one obvious agenda and that is the blind man’s death.
Using the radio environment to provide a high level of
audience empathy, the play takes the listener beyond the blind man’s apparent
killing to some extraordinary revelations.
This short play was the first I had produced. The
encouragement given to me by Independent Radio Drama Productions at this
critical time is the main reason that I continue to write feverishly to
this day.
‘Visualise’ was produced by Tim Crook for Independent Radio Drama Productions way back in 1992.
It starred David Peart, Jamie Ripman and Alfred Hoffman.
