January 1997 - FM104, Dublin. This is the on-air studio. My show ran for 6 hours every day, from 1.00am to 7.00am. While all the other radio stations were gearing themselves up for automation and computer controlled radio programmes, FM104 was still using old, outdated Cart Machines for playing promotions and commercials.

The only really good equipment there was the fantastic Neumann Microphone, which really made the human voice sound good. You can see one in the picture below. It has excellent dynamic sound quality. If you own a radio station, GET one - no matter what the cost!! You might also be interested to know that among the audio processing equipment on their air-chain was an Orban Optimod.
