For the average to large garden the most favoured style of composter is the New Zealand bin. It has three fixed sides with removable slats at the front for access to the finished product.
Two bays are preferable but you will get by with just one. Aim for a bin measuring one cu. yd.(3ftx3ftx3ft) as this will aid the heating up process. Keep the rain out with a wooden lid or square of old carpet or polythene.
