Kilbarron is the most southerly Parish in the Diocese of Raphoe.

It is situated on the banks of the river Erne in South Donegal, 14 miles from Donegal Town, 3 miles from Bundoran, and 24 Miles from Sligo.

This ancient Parish incorporates the Northern side of the Town of Ballyshannon (which boasts as being the oldest town in Ireland) Cashelard and Rossnowlagh.

The Parish of Kilbarron is bordering on The Parishs of Magh Ene (Bundoran to Ballyshannon) and Belleek in the Diocese of Clogher on the southern/western side, Kinough (in the Diocese of Kilmore) and Ballintra (the Parish Drumholm Parish) to the North..

There are two Church in our Parish

(St Patrick's in Ballyshannon and St Mary's in Cashelard),

The Franciscan Friary in Rossnowlagh

and Three Convents of the Sisters of Mercy
