Kildimo GAA Snippets: By James Carey.(As printed in the Junior county final Programme) 

* Kildirno's most noted hurler Paddy McMahon is a granduncle of Kieran and Ger McMahon. Paddy won a County Junior Hurling medal with Kildimo in 1933 and West SH medals in 1934 & 1935. He was a two‑time All‑Ireland medal winner in 1936 (when he scored two goals in the final) and 1940. He also played in the 1935 All‑Ireland SHC final (when he scored two goals in the final). He was also the holder of four successive NHL medals 1935‑38. 

* The 1933 County Junior Hurling Championship winning team was M. O'Neill (Captain), T. McMahon, W. McMahon, J. Hickey, J. Fitzgerald, J. Sheehy, J. Kirby, J. O'Neill, J. Madigan, Jack O'Shea, J. O'Shaughnessy, M. Costello, J. Mulqueen, P. McMahon, M. Ward, H. Sheehy, D.O'Sullivan. The 1933 County Junior Hurling final was played on the 20th. May 1934.

 * Jack O'Shea who was a member of the 1933 team is a granduncle of Sean Kelly & Darren O'Shea panelist for today's game.

 * Daniel O'Sullivan who was also a member of the 1933 team is a grandfather of Daniel O'Sullivan our sub goalie today and father of Michael who was a selector of City Junior Hurling Champions 1982, '84,'98, 2002, '01.

 * The 1952 panel who's West Junior Hurling Championship run was ended by Castletown were Seamus Stokes, Willie Harte, Stephen O'Shaughnessy, Jimmy Nealon, Tommy Sheehan, Scan Hanley, John Barry, Mickey Battles, Tommy Fennell, Jack O'Shaughnessy, Joe Sheehy, PJ. Guinane, Patrick Walsh, Toddy McAuley, Mickey Broderick, Eddie Madigan (Capt).

 * Willie Harte who was also a member of the 1952 team is grandfather of current team full‑back Adrian.

 * Toddy McAuley who played with Kildimo in the 1950's &'60's is father of twins Tommy and Justin from today's squad.

 * Kildimo were City Junior Champions in '56, '58, '82, '84, '98, '2000, '01 & 02.

 * Jimmy Nealon and John Barry won All‑Ireland Junior Hurling medals in 1957 with Limerick. John Barry also achieved the same fate in 1954 and won a Munster Junior Hurling medal in 1952. N.H.L. medals 1947.

 * Pa Enright who is unavailable to‑day and his father Eamon (Selector) is a first cousin and uncle respectively of Eddie Enright who won an All‑Ireland medal with Tipperary in 2001.

 * Billy Chawke captained Kildimo to the City Junior Hurling title in 1984. His sons Seamus and John are goalkeeper and full‑forward resepctively for to‑day's game.

 *Williarn McMahon played for Lancashire against Kilkenny in the 1905 All‑Ireland senior Hurling semi‑final at Jones Road. He was born in Kildimo in 1878.

 *John O'Shea (Young Ireland's) was also born in Kildimo and played in the All‑Ireland senior hurling final 1923 against Galway.

 *Jack O'Shaughnessy who was a member of the 1933 team is a granduncle of Noel Morrissey who was on the County minor panel this year.

 *John O'Rourke played in 1903 for Limerick (2‑9) v Clare (1‑1) in the Munster SH Championship. The match was played in the Markets Field in 1‑5‑04.
