Kilglass Gaels honour Parkes and Marion Reynolds on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary
Recently the Shannon Key West ballroom in Rooskey was overflowing with guests when a surprise 'This Is Your Life' party was held in honour of Parkes and Marion Reynolds. The function coincided with the recent celebration by Parkes and Marion of their 40th wedding anniversary. Both keen GAA supporters, Parkes and Marion have passed on their passion for gaelic games to their family, all of whom are involved in or supportive of the GAA. Parkes Reynolds is a very well-known GAA figure throughout the county and a key activist over many years in the Rooskey area. His son Charlie has played with Kilglass Gaels and been involved in many official capacities with the club while a second son, Johnny, is also involved with Kilglass Gaels and has refereeed for many years. The recent function was mainly about Parkes and Marion however, and a great celebration it was of their 40 years of marriage, with many special guests turning up to pay tribute. The GAA at the highest level in the county was represented by Chairman of the County Board, Mr. Stephen Banahan.
