Scór na nÓg: Congratulations to our Scór na nÓg  Quiz Team of Katie Nugent Edmond Conboy and Raymond Gearty and Team Mentor Nuala Diffley on their wonderful achievement of winning the All-Ireland in the Dean Crowe Hall Athlone last Saturday. The trio won in style as they answered all questions correctly and what is unlikely to ever have happened before this team only got two questions wrong in the five rounds that they competed in since the competition started back last November.

Bowling Night: Ladies & Minor Clubs Bowling Night takes place on this Friday Night 27th Feb. in Longford Bowling Alley, from 8 p.m. til Late. Looking forward to a large turnout of adult, ladies and underage players parents and supporters. Bar on Night. Entry fee is €60 for a team of 4 adults and €40 for a team of 4 under 16’s. Individual fee of €15 per adult and €10 for under 16’s as teams can be formed on the night. A meeting in conjunction with the above will be held in the Clubrooms on Wed 25th at 8.30p.m.

Trial Match: The intermediate team management are holding a Trial Match at the pitch on Sunday 15^th at 1.00 o’clock. All players be in dressing rooms by 12.30.

Foundation Coaching Course: A very successful Foundation Course was held in the clubrooms on Thurs 29^th Jan and Mon 9^th Feb a total of 21 club members took part in the course and we hope to see them all getting involved in underage coaching in the coming year. A special word of thanks to John McGowan, Willie Hegarty and Peter Carney who conducted the course.                     

Bowling Night:  Ladies & Minor Clubs are holding a Bowling Night in Longford Bowling Alley on Friday 27^th Feb. starting at 8.00p.m. til Late we encourage all adult, ladies and underage players supporters and parents to take part in what will be a  very enjoyable night the Bowling Alley are providing a bar on the night. Scór na nÓg: The Club would like to congratulate our Quiz Team of Eddie Conboy, Katie Nugent and Raymond Gearty on winning the Connacht Final for the third successive year. We hope they achieve All-Ireland glory on Saturday 21^st Feb. in the Dean Crowe Hall Athlone. Team Mentor Nuala Diffley deserves great credit for the endless hours of preparation she has given to the successful trio over the last few years. Hard luck to Rachel Coyle who put on a great performance in the Recitation but didn’t claim provincial honours, no doubt she will be back again next year.
