Our Club

Kilkenny Men's Hockey Club has two active teams in the Leinster League. The firsts play Senior 2, which is the second division and the 2nds play in Intermediate 2 which is division 7. The club enters the Irish Senior Cup, which is a national competition. It also enters the Railway Cup and the Minor Cup. To date the club has won the Minor Cup 3 times in 10 years. Our Senior side has found it more difficult to bring home silver but they keep trying.

Almost all our matches are on Saturdays from September to April. Our home matches are usually played on the astro-turf pitch at Scanlan Park and our mid week training is on the astro-turf pitch in Kilkenny College on the Castlecomer Road. Generally our away games are against Dublin sides but, depending on the division we play in, there are matches in Navan, Gorey, Wicklow or Naas.

We are looking for new members all the time. If we can increase our numbers sufficiently we can restart our 3rd team in the league. However, you are welcome to come to training just to keep fit. Training for adults for the coming season has started. If you are interested, why not join us at Kilkenny College pitch on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30 pm?
