    About Us

    Introduction

Kilkenny Youthreach is a programme for early school leavers. If you want to improve your skills, gain qualifications, become more confident and experience a variety of activities, then Youthreach is the place for you.

    What qualifications are offered?

Youthreach provides you with the opportunity to gain qualifications for the things that most interest you. Here's a chance to do a Junior Cert, an Applied Leaving Cert or an NCVA Programme. Most importantly you get to work at your own pace!

    How to get involved!

Kilkenny Youthreach recruits young people each September. If you're aged between 15 - 18 years, left school early, with no qualifications and want to get involved in a challenging educational programme, we're looking for you ... and you should be looking for us ... so why not give it a try? Check out the Contact Information section at the end of this page.

    Three things worth considering!

    1. Youthreach can help get qualifications in an area of personal interest to you
    2. Youthreach is a flexible programme
    3. You get an allowance while you study.

    Official Launch of Kilkenny Youthreach

The Minister of Education Micheal O'Mairtin, T.D. speaking at the official launch of Kilkenny Youthreach, on Friday 8th October 1999, said that " ... the key to Youthreach is that one size does not fit all ... the key is to have a number of different responses - a number of different programmes and to enable young people to avail of one of these."

Kilkenny Youthreach Finalists in Sports Tournament ...

Kilkenny Youthreach became finalists at the Youthreach South Eastern Regional Sports Tournament, of which they were hosts this year. O'Loughlins Sports Complex was the venue for the events, held in July 2001. Participants from Roscrea, New Ross, Enniscorthy, Waterford and Laoise also took part in the Basketball and Soccer mixed competitions.

The finalists were Waterford and Kilkenny, competing for the Inter-Youthreach South Eastern Perpetual Trophy. Waterford were the victors on the day, narrowly beathing us. A single goal separated the us at the conclusion of a tighly fought 'battle', 2 - 1 the final score. Congratulations to Waterford and roll on next year!

The calibre of the sporting skill on display was extremely high, with a high degree of sportsmanship exhibite by all participants. We would like to thank the following locally based businesses for their sponsorship of the event:
