There is no need either to undertake expensive renovations or decoration - just a tidy house with a lived-in appearance.
Make it easy for the next person!

A Reflective Prayer

" You are Peter and on this Rock I will build my Church. "

For our reflective prayer this weekend, let us pray for the successor of St. Peter, Pope John Paul ll, that God may give him strength in his failing health.

Almighty and eternal God, have mercy on your servant Pope John Paul ll and direct him according to your mercy into the way of everlasting salvation; that he may desire by your grace those things that are pleasing to you and perform them with all his strength; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And may the words of another great successor of St. Peter, Pope Pius Xll (1939-58) help each of us to reflect on our own calling to serve Jesus and his Church, (Gods People) with a faith that is built on Rock the teachings of Popes.

Almighty and eternal God, may your grace enkindle in all of us a love for those people whom poverty and misery reduce to a condition of life unworthy of human beings. Arouse in the hearts of those who call you Father a hunger and thirst for justice and peace and for fraternal charity in deeds and in truth. Grant, O Lord, peace in our days: peace to our souls, peace to our families, peace to our country and peace among nations.

One Little Rose

I would rather have one little rose
From the garden of a friend
Than to have the choicest flowers
When my stay on earth must end.
I would rather have one pleasant word
In kindness said to me
Than flattery when my heart is still
And life has ceased to be.
I would rather have a loving smile
From friends I know are true
Than tears shed round my casket
When this world I've bid adieu.
Bring me all your flowers to-day
Whether pink, or white, or red;
I'd rather have one blossom now
Than a basketful when I'm dead.

Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, send workers into your harvest. May the Spirit we received in Baptism touch the hearts of many to offer themselves in priesthood, religious life, and other forms of service. Give the parents and families of our parish, the wisdom and courage to support young people, in searching for and following the call of God in their lives
