Hello my name is Natalie. I am nine years old. I go to Kilvemnon National School. There are five in my family. My Daddy is called John Mockler and my Mother is called Kathleen Mockler and my two sisters are called Stephanie and Laura. I am going to tell about the time when I was on holidays with my family in Kerry and I got lost.

Chapter 1

It was the twenty second of August 2001. The day of our holidays had come at last. We packed up the car and headed towards Kerry. The journey felt long and I was kind of sick as well. When we arrived in Killarney I looked out the car windows. There were loads of hotels there. I kept asking Mammy which hotel is ours. Mammy kept saying our hotel is called the Gleneagle At last we arrived at the Gleneagle. It was huge. There was a swimming pool at one end and a tennis court at the other. There were loads of rooms in it. We got out of the car and went to the reception. The receptionist gave us a guide leaflet and the key. The number of our room was 265 on the second floor. Our room had three single beds and one king size bed. There was a television, drawers, lockers, wardrobe and a bathroom. It was really posh and I felt like a queen. When we were finished looking around we went out for our bags and unpacked. It was seven o'clock I watched television until eight o' clock and we all went down to the bar. I got Cidona. I went to bed at nine o' clock

Chapter 2

The next morning I got up at ten o' clock and went for a shower. I put on my clothes. Mammy was up at nine o' clock and she was ready. The others were still asleep so Mammmy and I decided to go down to the dining room and get some breakfast. I got orange juice, cornflakes, toast and sausages. When Mammy and I were finished our breakfast we went off shopping. Mammy said to me, "Do you want to go to the cinema?" I said, "Yes". Mammy handed me £20.00 and said, " I will walk in with you". So I held Mammy's hand. Suddenly this big crowd came out of the cinema, Mammy and I broke hands. I looked around. I couldn't see her any place. I looked around where we were last but she wasn't there. I looked in the nearby shops and on the side- streets but she was no place to be seen. I started to panic then I started to cry. Just then a girl came over to me she said " What's wrong?" I said "I'm lost. I can't find my Mammy". She said she was lost too. She got lost when she was in Penneys when she was looking at clothes and suddenly she looked around and her Mammy was gone. I stopped crying and asked her what was her name. She said, "My name is Niamh." I asked, "Are you living in Killarney or are you just staying in a hotel?" She said she was staying in a hotel and it was called the Gleneagle. I told her I was staying in the same hotel. She was amazed. We pulled ourselves together and started to look in the shops and the side - streets again. There was no sign of our mothers. Suddenly we walked around the corner. We saw a circus tent in the main square. There was a circus on!! Niamh said, "Why don't we go in?". She wasn't really scared anymore that her mother was gone but I was still kind of scared. But then I started to think. I thought that if I went in it might take my mind off of being scared. So I said. "OK". It was £5.00 each to go in. I handed in £10.00 for two tickets. Niamh and I went in. There were trapeze artists, lions, snakes, elephants and clowns. My favourite was the clowns they were really funny. When we came out of the circus I said to Niamh,, "I still have £10.00 left will we go to Mc Donalds?" Niamh said "Yes." So we went into Mc Donalds. I got a plain burger and a drink of orange and Niamh got chips and a drink of orange as well.

When we came out of Mc Donalds we saw two men with balaclavas running out of Penneys. Suddenly "BUMP" the two robbers bumped into us. We all fell down. Everybody surrounded around us and the robbers. There was a policeman nearby and he ran over. He hand-cuffed the robbers. "Hello," said the policeman, "My name is Liam. Thank you very much for catching the robbers. How can I repay you?" I replied, "Well my friend and I are kind of lost." We told him we were staying in the Gleneagles so Liam the policeman brought us back to the hotel. We found our Mammies. I hugged my Mammy and Niamh hugged hers. I was so happy. It was the most adventurous holidays I ever had.
