Show-jumping Rules

The Kingdom Branch of the Irish Pony Club,
2,002

SHOWJUMPING RULES:

1. The fee charged at a gymkhana covers both showjumping and any novelties and/or games.  Fees for gymkhanas are as follows: One family member €10, two family members €17.50, three family members €22.50 and four family members €25.

2. Where a member wishes to jump more than one pony, then fees will apply as above ie. one pony €10, two ponies €17.50, etc.

3. All members must jump
in their own grade.  If jumps are lowered (which they can be)  then the member is out of competition and does not get league points.  This applies to grades D+ and over.

4. All D and D+ members get a rosette.

5. Each member must nominate one pony for the league and is awarded points on that pony only.

6. A member may ride any number of ponies on the day but must jump the nominated pony first.

7. The intention is to have competition and novelties at each gymkhana and where possible games.

8. The league applies to D+ members and up.

9. A member must attend two gymkhanas in order to be considered for the showjumping team championships.

10. The aim of the gymkhanas is that the members will learn while having fun.  League points are awarded to make it more interesting for members but enjoyment is the main aim.

Showjumping League:
The showjumping committee are planning on holding a total of five gymkhanas on a league basis throughout the year.  This includes the gymkhana held in Woodlands at the end of December.  (This gymkhana would normally occur in early January but was held in December to allow all members for 2,001 to participate).
The showjumping committee comprises: Frank Hickey, Geraldine Collins, Bernie O'Mahony, Michael Costello and Tom O'Connor.
