Due to the focused nature of the degree, graduates qualify for a more extensive range of exemptions from the professional accounting bodies than available to other business or commerce graduates. These exemptions have proved important to employers in selecting graduate recruits. An overview of the programme of study is given in Table 3. Experience in analysis, investigation and organisation of information is vital to a range of business activities. Many qualified accountants successfully rise to positions in general management or become involved in areas other than accountancy.
