Our Green Code
(devised by children and staff)

1. If we see litter in the playground, we will pick it up and put it in the bin. This will help keep our new school clean and tidy.

2. We will recycle our paper when it has been used front and back.

3. We will not use tin foil or unnecessary plastic to wrap our lunches. Instead we will put our lunches in lunch boxes or other containers (or bags) that can be used over and over.

4. We think that recycling is very important. We will continue to recycle paper, cans, batteries, ring can holders, stamps and CDs in school.

5. We will be more conscious of how we use school lights and will ensure to turn them off when we don’t think they are needed.

6. We are aware of the importance of water as a natural resource and work towards conserving it as much as we can.

7. As we plant seeds for our garden, only peat free compost is used. Our bogs are very important to us and we collect stamps to help promote education in this area.

8. We need to conserve heat. Therefore unnecessary radiators have been identified and turned off, while doors are kept closed to avoid draughts entering the school.
